6th August 1806: Holy Roman Empire officially dissolved following the abdication of Francis II
The Holy Roman Empire had been a complex and multi-ethnic entity composed of numerous semi-autonomous states, principalities, duchies, and free cities. Dating back to the coronation of Charlemagne as Emperor by Pope Leo III in 800 AD, the Empire played a crucial role in the politics, culture, and religion of Europe. However, its internal structure and balance of power shifted significantly, during the Reformation and the Thirty Years’ War.
By the late 18th century, the Empire faced increasing challenges from both internal divisions and external threats. The rise of Prussia as a powerful state, and the spread of revolutionary ideas from France, contributed to its weakening. The situation worsened with the advent of Napoleon, whose military campaigns and political manoeuvres further destabilized the region.
The decisive blow came in 1805 with Napoleon’s victory over the Austrians and Russians at the Battle of Austerlitz. In its aftermath Napoleon established the Confederation of the Rhine, consisting of a group of German states allied with France. This was effectively a French satellite and posed a direct threat to the Holy Roman Empire.
Facing the reality of Napoleon’s dominance in Europe, and the inability to preserve the Empire, Francis II took the unprecedented step of abdicating the throne on 6 August 1806. In his proclamation, he also released all the states and princes of the Empire from their oaths of loyalty to him. By doing so, he effectively dissolved the Holy Roman Empire. Francis II then continued to rule as Francis I, Emperor of Austria, a title he had adopted in 1804 to consolidate his territories against the threat of Napoleonic expansion.

China and its strategy of weakening the West. People only love communism because they have never lived in a communist country. Look at Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea. Everyone supports censorship. All communists and socialists are dictators in disguise. Communism killed as many people as Nazism. Lula and Brazil's communist left are destroying the country.

I am a Boomer from Chile and I can say Che Guevara became such an important icon in our coutnries in the mid-60s that many youths were ready to follow his path and die for "the revolution". I can't imagine of any other individual reaching such relevance for our generation and influencing so many youths and so deep as to make them follow his example even if that meant to face a violent death and/or horrible tortures. FF to 2024. I have never never seen a historical figure fading and getting lost in the dust of the road as fast ans dramatically as Che Guevara. Within a decade I dont think anyone will ever remember his name, know of his existence, even more now that all the continent has been capable of watching live what really a Communiist regime is and all the atrocities is able to commit. Because until now the Communists were always the victims and the goods guys, we never had a Communist dictatorship in the continent, Cuna was one but it was always justified on the reasons we have known since 1960, US embargo, CIA attempts against the regime. But the Maduro regime is one that has committed all kinds of atrocitires ONLY to stay in power, not in the defense of the country , and that is the game changing fact. Communism will be dead in LATAM by the 30s.

Ernest Che Guevara was captured in 1967 by Andrija Selić, a Montenegrin from Rovac, then a colonel in the Bolivian army. He was born in La Paz and was nicknamed Chop. In the legendary photograph, where a crowd of people watches over the dead Che, Colonel Selić is an officer with a mustache showing a gunshot wound. He grew up in the family of Božidar Selić, an emigrant from Morača, who moved to Argentina in 1920 and then moved to Bolivia. In Bolivia, the young man was given a new name, Andres Selic. He graduated from the La Paz Military Academy and the US Military Academy at West Point. He was the commander of the "Green Berets" special battalion and one of the key people in the capture of the world's most famous revolutionary Che Guevara in 1967. A special troop from the Eighth Division of the Bolivian Army was engaged in the hunt for Che Guevara. That troop was commanded by Colonel Joaquin Zenteno Anaya. The commander of the special battalion of "green berets" was Colonel Andrija Selić, who managed the operation on the ground. In total, more than a thousand soldiers were engaged. American anti-guerrilla experts also took part in the battles that followed. Near the village of La Higuera, on October 8, 1967, after a short and accidental firefight, the Bolivian army ambushed Che and one of his comrades. Che Guevara was wounded in the leg and could not defend himself. While waiting for the competent superiors to arrive, he was transferred to a nearby village school. The first to arrive there was Colonel Andrija Selić, who was the first to interrogate Che after his capture and later participated in burying his remains. The next morning, Felix Rodriguez, a CIA agent of Cuban origin, then under the pseudonym Felix Ramos Medina, arrived. He immediately informed his superiors in Washington about the capture of Che Guevara, confirming the previously unofficial news. Selić was the Minister of the Interior, Minister of the Army, Ambassador of Bolivia to Paraguay and one of the most influential people in the country. He led a rebellion of officers against the military oligarchy and the regime of Ugo Banzer. In May 1973, he left Paraguay and returned to Bolivia. Just as the extreme leftists targeted everyone who had anything to do with the capture or liquidation of Ernesto Che Guevara, Ambassador Andrija Selić was also on their kill list. He was arrested, tortured and liquidated in 1973 in the villa of the new Minister of the Interior, Alfredo Arce Caprio

According to Japanese sources, this incident is the official start of their war against China. The reason people think of 1937 as the war officially starting was because neither sides wanted to declare war; Japan didn't declare war out of international PR, and the nationalist Chinese were busy fighting off the communists.

As for the elephant, they could have just let it go where they stole it into the wild to let it fend for itself & it would have died a natural mortality. Let's face it. We totally have a mortality sentence from our sins. But, it doesn't have to stay that way.
